Geoff Barton, Chair of the Oracy Education Commission

Students who want to read.
Data to evidence learning.

The Day inspires every student to read, think and debate with our daily news stories, written in three different reading levels.

Now, our new, time-saving assessment tools will track engagement, reading proficiency, critical thinking and real-world knowledge.

Confident, curious voices. Meaningful data. It’s a new Day.

Read more. Think deeper. Debate louder.

How The Day works

Every day our human journalists create topical stories that engage young people.

We write the same story in different reading levels to bring the whole class together to spark curiosity and discussion.

Our new assessment tool evidences students’ vocabulary, comprehension, critical thinking and real-world knowledge.

Teachers get instant, marking-free feedback across their pupils and class.
